摘要: 长期以来,我国高职英语教学一直缺乏科学、有效、合理的模式,教学效果不显著。在实际课堂教学中,存在着学生基础薄弱、学习动力不足、教师自身素质有待提高、教材无法满足学生需求、教学环境滞后、考核评估手段单一等问题。文章试图从这些问题出发,探讨改进英语教学的有效途径。要想改变这种现状,就必须增强学生的学习信心和动力,提高教师的综合素质,适时地选择合适的教材,改善教学设备,改革考核评估手段。

Abstract: The pedagogical pattern of vocational college English in China has long been far from scientific, effective and practical, which leads to unsatisfactory teaching achievements. Classroom teaching has presented following problems: students have weak English knowledge and therefore lack study motivation; the comprehensive quality of teachers requires further development; the teaching materials cannot meet the students' demands; the teaching environment is lagging behind; the assessment and evaluation methods are comparatively simple. Based on these problems, the author tries to probe the effective solutions to improve the vocational college English teaching. To change the present situation, we must arouse the students' interests and stimulate their study motivation, develop the teachers’ comprehensive quality, select appropriate teaching materials, improve the teaching equipments and enforce a reform on the assessment and evaluation system.
